We are looking for a highly motivated Lead Pharmacist / Pharmacy Clinical Director for our pharmacy, CompreCare Rx (https://www.comprecarerx.com), located in Huntington, WV. CompreCare Rx is part of PursueCare, a startup technology-enabled healthcare services company that is addressing the opioid epidemic with an intelligent, convenient, and stigma-free telehealth treatment platform that creates a better experience and better outcomes for addiction recovery patients. The ideal candidate will hold a pharmacist license in West Virginia and be willing to acquire pharmacist licenses wherever applicable for future pharmacy services. All licensing expenses and fees will be paid for by our company.  Relocation expenses will be paid for the right candidate.

What You’ll Do:

CompreCare Rx is our privately owned and operated retail/mail-order, full-service and Joint Commission-accredited pharmacy. We offer addiction medications, compounding, specialty and home-infusion services to neighboring communities and by mail-order to 20+ states. In this role, you will provide exceptional quality of care and outstanding customer service to vulnerable populations while managing daily pharmacy activities, including but not limited to dispensing, overseeing compounding, specialty therapies, managing inventory and wholesale relationships, patient/provider/clinic consultation, patient safety, regulatory matters, quality assurance, and workflow improvement. This role will also require assisting senior management in business development and new ventures in addiction treatment, including growth of our direct-to-patient telehealth addiction treatment platform, virtual pharmacy consultations, and app-related pharmacy services.

Specific hands-on and mission-critical initiatives may include:

  • Staff/personnel management - overseeing pharmacy technician responsibilities and aiding in compounding, specialty, home infusion, and other processes whenever necessary;
  • Maintaining exceptional customer service through telephonic and video conferencing communications with patients, physicians, clinic staff, and other healthcare providers and entities;
  • Assuring patient safety and counseling requirements are met whenever necessary for standard or complex drug regimens;
  • Assuring all prescription monitoring and Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) requirements for dispensing controlled substances are conducted and recorded; Developing and executing audit practices to maintain high standards of performance and compliance;
  • Maintaining accurate inventory of medications and regularly communicating positive relationships with wholesalers;
  • Assisting patients with medication-related issues and aiding patients in understanding how to properly use medications;
  • Collaborating with physicians in order to reach best possible individualized care plans and drug therapies for patients, including MAT for opioid use disorder treatment, and compounding services that can be individualized for patients;
  • Maintaining all regulatory requirements as set forth by the FDA, DEA, state pharmacy boards, and other federal and state agencies, including specific regulations for the prescribing and dispensing of controlled substances for MAT for addiction, compounding, specialty, home infusion, and general pharmacy services;

 

We’re Looking For:

  • Currently licensed and in good standing with the West Virginia state board of pharmacy
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree issued by an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Experience managing a retail, mail-order, or other pharmacy setting preferred
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about addiction treatment medications (Medication-Assisted Treatment or "MAT") and current best practices
  • Knowledge of specialty therapies and medications, including compounding and IV home infusion a plus but not required
  • Ability and desire to learn, adapt, and assist in implementing Healthcare IT and technologies, new pharmacy software/systems, EHR, and telehealth required
  • Exceptional critical thinking, creative problem solving, and workflow management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to coordinate and assist patient care and professional relationships in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Ability and desire to participate and drive new and exciting business opportunities, and assist CEO in expanding telehealth and pharmacy services to meet company-wide objectives

PursueCare offers pharmacy services from CompreCare Rx, a leading mail-order and retail pharmacy located in Huntington, WV. The pharmacy also develops and supports non-telehealth retail and mail-order pharmacy services in multiple states.
